Newcastle, DE (Sept 7, 2016) AudioScience, a leader of professional audio peripherals in the installed sound and radio broadcast industries, has announced the availability of the Hono Audio-Video-Bridging (AVB) Controller, featuring unique abilities not found in other AVB controllers on the market.
Introduced at InfoComm 2016, the Hono AVB Controller is intended for use with the AudioScience Hono family of AVB products and other 3rd party AVB devices. It provides configuration and routing of IEEE 1722 audio stream formats using the IEEE 1722.1 AVDECC protocol and is built upon the foundation of the open source avdecc-lib IEEE 1722.1 library.

The Hono AVB Controller currently operates on Windows 7 and 10, 32 and 64bit operating systems. An Apple Macintosh OS X version will be available by the end of 2016.
The controller is free when used on AVB networks containing at least one AudioScience AVB device (Hono AVB Mini, Custom or Virtual Sound Card (VSC)). Without an AudioScience device, the controller will operate in an evaluation mode for 90 days from the date of installation. A full license costs US$295.
