AUDIOSCIENCE'S ASI5402 2x2 COBRANET® PCI SOUND CARD NEWCASTLE, DE (November 12, 2008) – Setting a new price point for CobraNet-enabled computer interfaces, AudioScience, Inc., a leader of professional audio peripherals for the broadcast and entertainment industries, today unveiled the ASI5402 CobraNet PCI sound card. The ASI5402 is a PCM-only sound card providing CobraNet audio networking coupled with advanced audio processing. Utilizing Cirrus Logic's Silicon series CobraNet interface, the card can simultaneously record and play two channels of 24-bit audio over a 100Mbps Ethernet network. Also incorporated is AudioScience's unique MRX technology, allowing the routing and mixing of streams of different sample rates and formats.
“CobraNet is a multi-vendor audio routing technology that to date has not capitalized
on the audio capabilities of standard PCs. AudioScience's ASI6416 addressed PC audio
requirements needing significant numbers of channels, and now we round out our
offerings for those installs that only need stereo” says Richard Gross, President
of AudioScience. “Customers no longer need to connect standard audio cards to external
CobraNet boxes. The ASI5402 supports a complete, cost effective, end-to-end digital solution.”
