AUDIOSCIENCE CELEBRATES 15 YEARS AT NAB 2011 NEWCASTLE, DE (April 04, 2011) – AudioScience, Inc., a leader of professional audio peripherals for the broadcast and installed sound industries, celebrates its 15th year in manufacturing and offers exciting innovations at the NAB Show in Las Vegas this month. AudioScience introduces a Macintosh OS X driver and has expanded its line of broadcast sound cards and CobraNet devices.
"We're seeing our
professional audio cards being used more and more in music
editing and production," said Richard Gross, president of
AudioScience. "Macs are widely used in this area and we were
getting many inquiries asking if we would be creating an Apple
driver. We're very pleased to announce, while celebrating our
15th year, that we now have an OS X driver."
Audioscience's OS X driver supports low
latency multichannel recording and playback on most of their PCI
Express adapter models. The Macintosh driver is compatible with
OS X releases starting from Snow Leopard® for any application
that supports Core Audio.
The very popular ASI5000 series of PCM sound cards have been
upgraded to the ASI5500 PCI series and now offers +24dBu I/O on
the analog models and hardware sample rate conversion on the AES/EBU
digital models.
The ASI5211 is an enhanced PCI Express version of the ASI5111, widely used in radio production. The
ASI5211 has two stereo record streams from either a balanced analog input or an AES/EBU digital input,
four stereo play streams mixed to both a balanced analog output and an AES/EBU digital output, and a
microphone input with a 48V phantom power supply. New to the ASI5211 are two opto inputs and two relay
outputs via a second bracket attached to the ASI5211 using a 10-pin ribbon cable.
Continuing on the PCI Express theme, the new ASI6685 is a Livewire sound card intended
for radio automation in an Axia AoIP Livewire environment.
"On our CobraNet front," said Stephen Turner, vice president of AudioScience, "We've created the
Connect CobraNet line of twelve 1U rackmount devices pre-configured with our most sought after I/O
combinations. We've also created Connect CobraNet Minis: compact interfaces with a smaller CobraNet
channel count which are perfect for adding just a few more inputs or outputs."
