ASI6114 AUDIO ADAPTER OFFERS MULTI-RATE MP3 RECORDING AND
NEWCASTLE,DE (November 1, 2001) - Delivering the highest-performing audio solution for the radio broadcast market, AudioScience, Inc. today unveiled the ASI6114, a new audio adapter that includes MPEG layer 3 (MP3) record and playback with multiple simultaneous sample rates.
The ASI6114 provides four stereo outputs, one stereo input, one record stream and four play streams. As well as MP3, other format choices include MPEG Layer 2 and both big and little endian 16bit PCM.
The adapter features AudioScience's exclusive new Multi-Rate Mixing (MRX) technology, which enables playback, recording and digital mixing of multiple audio streams of any sample rate to a 1Hz precision.

Both analog and digital interfaces are standard on the ASI6114. The analog side uses 24 bit over-sampling converters to deliver more than 100dB of dynamic range with THD+N better than 0.002%. The digital interface can be software configured for either AES/EBU or S/PDIF operation and has sample rate converters on all inputs.
Flexible synchronization options allow the ASI6114 to be clocked from either a dedicated AES/EBU sync or a word clock input. A word clock output is provided to allow the adapter to be a master clock source.
The ASI6114 is available now and includes XLR breakout cables. Driver support includes Windows 98, Me, NT, 2000 and Windows XP as well as Linux. The card lists for $2995 with volume discounts available.
